Thermal Management (DC-HVAC)

In subterranean environments, thermal control is not a comfort feature but a critical engineering requirement. In hyper-arid regions such as Qatar and the UAE, managing heat dissipation without exposing surface signatures or relying on vulnerable external systems is essential to maintaining both operational security and system integrity.

BUNKKER integrates advanced passive and active thermal management solutions designed to ensure continuous cooling performance, energy efficiency, and complete environmental discretion.

Redundancy: N+1 Mission Critical

Geothermal Thermal Dissipation

Thermal dissipation is the primary engineering hurdle for subterranean structures in hyper-arid regions like Qatar and the UAE.

BUNKKER solves this through a Passive Geothermal Thermal Sink. We deploy glycol-water heat exchange loops buried at depths where earth temperatures are constant (approx. 24°C). This allows the structure to discharge the heat generated by electronics and human metabolism into the earth's mass, eliminating the need for vulnerable, noisy, and heat-detectable surface condensers.

DC-Coupled Cooling Architecture

The cooling architecture is a DC-Coupled HVAC system powered by a dedicated 48V/600V DC bus.

By using Variable Speed Inverters directly linked to Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LiFePO4) storage or Hydrogen Fuel Cells, we eliminate AC conversion losses and ensure a “Black Start” capability under any conditions.

Thermal Storage & Redundancy

For extreme scenarios, the system integrates Phase-Change Thermal Storage (Ice Banks), which can absorb latent heat for up to 72 hours without active power.

This redundant engineering maintains a precise internal set-point of 22°C (±0.5°C) with 50% humidity, ensuring that sensitive hardware remains within its optimal thermal envelope while maintaining a zero-infrared signature on the surface.
